We at WeUsThem know that 1 out of 5 Canadians have a mental illness, while also knowing that early intervention for youth mental illnesses can result in far better outcomes than if they were identified and treated at a later stage in life. With the current waitlists that exist for receiving clinical interventions, while also only presenting group sessions and general information as intermediary solutions, there are no other applications like ours available to young people to identify and manage mental illnesses.
WeUsThem has been working with TELUS to develop the holistic mobile application Health-eMe, which better cares for and monitors teens’ mental health. Health-eMe supports vulnerable individuals prior to, during and post-intervention. The app serves as a preventative approach, self-management application that gives the patient control of their health journey, while still maintaining a connection with their care providers. App users can access a plethora of evidence-based tools and resources for self-care management, from the comfort of their own homes. Health-eMe is available on Apple iOS, Google Android software, and TELUS’ Youth and Provider portals.
